Ocean-Based Carbon Removal Facility
PROJECT OVERVIEW
A 100,000 tonne-per-year ocean-based carbon dioxide removal facility that adds alkaline material to an existing facility's water outflow, restoring seawater chemistry and enhancing the ocean's natural CO₂ uptake. It is set to be the largest commercial-scale deployment of ocean alkalinity enhancement to date.
FGS VALUE ADD
Engaged through the MaRS First-of-a-Kind (FOAK) Lab and building on Planetary's existing revenue-generating facility, FGS is laying the foundation for a larger, commercial-scale facility that brings a proven stage-gated development program; a project-level financial model and project company structure; and specialist legal, feedstock and valuation support that the project needs to reach a final investment decision.
